The Authors make a detailed analysis of the OCRA Methodology IN bRAZIL They discuss the new paradigms of the OCRA Method in relation to the classic paradigms of the ergonomic knowledge. They also comment on the difficulties of translating the book “OCRA Method” from Italian to Portuguese due to the introduction of new terms still uncommon in the ergonomics and mainly in the adaptation of the Italian technical terminology to the Brazilian; the original spread sheets and software (annexed to the book) have been totally adapted to the computing systems more used nationally. In terms of the aspects of the legislation, they demonstrate the interconnection of the OCRA Methodology with the “Regulating Norms of the Ministry of Labor The authors explain the whole foundation process of the Brazilian OCRA School in 2007, the requirements that the “Scuola OCRA Italia” poses for the training of their teachers and their permanent technical-scientific updating, as well as the interchange between the OCRA Schools of several countries, which, since 2011, constitute as a whole the “International Ergonomics School”, with headquarters in EPM A qualitative and quantitative research is performed of the dissemination of this new ergonomic knowledge in Brazil, among autonomous professionals and organizational entities, through theoretical and practical training courses in the OCRA Methodology, from 2009 to 2011. The number of OCRA courses given during this period is assessed statistically as well as the professional qualification of the participants, having as objective the acknowledgement of the ones actually considered “approved” by the international OCRA evaluation and certification. CONCLUSION The authors present practical results that the “students certified by the OCRA Methodology” obtained in the application in different labor activities in diverse economic segments, verifying the reduction of risks and the productivity of the companies.
