The Formation of Occupational Health Physicians in Brazil

The formation of occupational health physicians in Brazil, is undergoing  transformations imposed by changes in the world due to the restructuring of manufacturing processes, enforcing the medical requirements not provided for previously.   It is necessary to define the competencies and abilities that occupational health physicians must have to perform well the tasks expected for them.   Five groups of basic skills are proposed: study of the work, comprehensive workers'' health assistance, formulation and implementation of policies and management, production and dissemination of knowledge and continuing medical education: learn to study and learn to learn.
