  • To construct and to determine the psychometric properties of an instrument for assessing the process of Workplace Bullying. Methodology: Exploratory study of development of a screening test. For the construction of the instrument was reviewed literature and enriched its content with victims’ interviews of bullying and information of workers from different companies, were put on trial by international experts and applied for the first half of 2010. 668 participants from different economic sectors, city, age, and other demographic variables, such as validation sample. To estimate the reliability we used the Cronbach alpha coefficient and exploratory factor analysis for construct validity. Results: Reliability coefficients, ranging from 0.87 for health effects to 0.95 for the scale of psychological harassment at work. The result of exploratory factor analysis of predisposing organizational subscale resulted in two components that explain 74.45% of the variance. In the subscale of health effects were two components that explain 57.83% of the variance. In the subscale of bullying were found five components account for 52.10% of the variance. Conclusions: The high coefficients of reliability and validity evidence collected content by experts and construct by exploratory factor analysis can have an instrument, valid and reliable for evaluating the various components of the bullying in the Colombian workforce.
