  • In 1996 in Argentina, the Law of Occupational Hazards established the Workers Compensation System (WCS), Included within the Social Security System.  It is based on an obligatory, universal insurance, with primes based on the assured risks and integration between prevention and reparation. Private insurance conmpanies cover work injuries, industrial accidents and occupational diseases.  Coverage is automatic including high quality medical and pharmaceutical assitance, rehabilitation, prostheses, ortheses, occupational re-qualification, funeral service and monetary benefits.  Service are provided by the insurers themselves or the Healthcare System. Occupational diseases are detailed on a closed list. A specific procedure allows covering certain unlisted diseases. The System is regulated by the Government
