  • Introduction
Detergent trade association guidelines emphasize the use of biological monitoring to assist in the control of workplace exposures.

    Methods
Dr Kirchner will discuss the use of skin testing in a large multinational organization, which tests thousands of employees a year. An emphasis will be placed on the quality control of training, antigen development, and the test itself. This includes a review of how the data is collected and used for hygiene control and as a company metric.

    Results
The attendee will understand a basic approach which has been extremely useful in reducing sensitization and subsequent allergies.

    Discussion
The principle of medical monitoring can be applied to other manufacturing industries using enzymes in a product or as a manufacturing process aid.
