  • In developing world, Occupational Health Physicians often work in situations where technical support may be inadequate. This is more so for OHPs working with SMEs.    For any physician employed in (or attached to) an industry, following 12 attributes are considered fundamental (Desirable Dozen).    1   Basic medical & OH qualification  2   Administrative and management skills  3   Occupational Medicine   4   Industrial Hygiene, basic principles and application  5   Ergonomics  6   Toxicology  7   Statistical skills and research methodology  8   Knowledge of online resources (ILO, WHO etc)  9   Familiarity with OH regulations and local regulatory bodies (OSHA, DISH)  10 Academic Institutes (NIOSH, CCOHS, NIOH)  11 NGOs (ICOH, IAOH)  12 Institutes or agencies with common interests (EPA, MPCB, ILO, WHO)    This part of the special session shall deal with some online and offline resources related with these essentials.    At the end of this presentation, participating OHP shall know where to find what he needs in his practice.
