  • Introduction
Making objective the mental effort in the professional activity specific to the workers from the television is a difficult but needful demarche of this activity, in which prevail the neuro-psycho-sensorial strain. The paper intend to propose a series of indices and objective and subjective parameters capable of quantifing this strain and also of proposing methods for preventing the professional diseases dues to the neuro-psycho-sensorial strain.

    Methods
An observational study was conducted on some workers from the television clasified as editors, entertainer editors, imaging directors, keyboarders of production RTV, imaging editors, emission operators with a work’s age due to 5-10 years, divided in groups of subjects for each function.
The content and intensity of the mental effort of these workers were studied depending on:
    · The content and nature of the worker’s tasks
    · The nature and complexity of the visual and audio information, that the workers need to receive
    · The complexity and responsability of the decisions that need to be taken
Data were analyzed using ANOVA, EpiInfo.

    Results
There were highlighted changes of the physiological indicators (mostly cardiac indicators),of the endocrine indicators: urinal and seric catecholamines, vanilmandelic acid (VMA), biochemical indicators, psycho-physiological indicators bound mostly to the visual and auditory analyzer, psychological indicators ( the distribution and concentration of short and medium term memory, the yield of the higher brain processes) and psycho-bahavioral indicators ( the frequency of neuro-vegetative, sensitive-sensory complaints and sleep disorders. )

    Discussion
This is an original paper that propose a series of methods of making objective and quantifing the neuro-psycho-sensorial strain, at the work in the televison. The temporary demands which are imposed in the TV production, the complexity-speed report, the attention, the precision, the responsability that derive from the spreading of these productions are factors that contribute to the appearance of the neuro-psysiological tiredness
