Introduction
Middle school teachers, administrators and support staff frequently are overwhelmed different physical and psychological risks. This research studied in the different workers the relationship between the Burnout Syndrome and Work (BO) and some cardiovascular risk factors.

Methods
We performed a correlational study of 973 middle school workers from Mexico City Information on sex, age, shift, contract type, and activity was collected and the CSQT questionnaire was applied to measure burnout. A blood sample to assess total cholesterol (TC), hypertriglyceridemia was taken and blood pressure, body mass index (BMI) and waist-hip ratio (WHR) were recorded. Data were analyzed with SPSS-19 and the Chi Square test was used to identify differences among subgroups.

Results
An association between a high BO level and a higher frequency of cardiovascular risk factors was observed. Principals had a significant association between high BO and hyperglycemia (p=0.035), hypertension (p=0.001) and high WHR (p=0.047). In administrators was significant the association to TC (p=0.054) and hypertension (p=0.001) In teachers a high BO level was significantly associated to high BMI (p=0.041) and hypertension (p =0.001), and for support staff a high BO was associated to high WHR (p =0.018) and hypertension (p =0.001).

Discussion
In this study we observed that all middle school personnel had an increase frequency of cardiovascular risks associated to presence of BO. Then presence of BO symptoms in these workers increases their cardiovascular risk, so it is necessary to pay more attention to these occupational risks to promote workers´ health.
