Safety Culture is an abstract concept about a phenomenon?, or it is a characteristic of the organization? Anyone be the answer, the true is that at present, safety culture is recognized as promoting accident prevention and improving occupational health, is positive. On the other hand, Resilience Engineering is another concept developing from the field of Cognitive System Engineering applied to the Safety and Health Management, it is also a trend addressed to accident and occupational ills prevention as well as looking for preparing organizations in faster recovers from negative events, becoming them more resiliencies.  The presentation tries of discussing the distinctive characteristics of Safety Culture and Resilience Engineering, focusing in the contact points between both concepts, as well as in the methodologies and tools using each one. It is possible to find synergies? Would it be possible to reinforce each one of both concepts using key principles developed by the other? It is possible for one organization to apply these methodologies or are we talking only of theoretical issues? What is the expected impact in occupational accident prevention and health improvement with the application of these concepts?
