  • The Special Session will present the ICOH revised Code of Ethics. The panel presenting the review will be Peter Westerholm (Sweden) as chair, Giovanni Costa (Italy) co-chair, Professor Godfrey B. Tangwa, Cameroon (Cameronn), Leslie London (South Africa),  , Julietta Rodriguez-Guzman (Colombia): Seichi Horie (Japan): The Special session is organized to give an account of the Code review  process and to highlight the main amendments.    Review motives:  1) to orientate Code stylewise towards guideline for Occupational Health Professionals in seeking good ethical practise ; 2) to update Code in introducing and explaining bioethical set of values Autonomy, Doing Good, Harm Avoidance, Justice/Equity in document annexed to the Code.   3) to review code contents to make it a usable tool in enhancing moral awareness and ethical work practices of occupational health professionals    Strategies    • Retaining outlines of present Code structure for easy recognition of ICOH core messages  • Seeking inputs from regions of the world in commissioning affiliates to Code Review Group in regions Latin and South Americas, Africa and Asia  • Seeking to adapt to changing moral landscape     Particular attention paid to OHPs involving in research, review of moral obligations of OHP,  conception of professional independence, OHP public health role, health promotion as an integral part of OHP tasks, professional competence development.    Draft review texts have been circulated within the Code Review Group and the review material has been communicated to ICOH Executive officers, Scientific Committees and National Secretaries, ICOH Board members and also to ICOH partner organizations  For participants in the Special Session handout material will be made available : a) revised  Code text and b) 11 summary accounts of challenging case scenarios for discussion.
