Methods: Under the banner of “Relfit – Reliance Fitness” initiatives, Reliance adopted many innovative methods for this integration such as CASHe program which helped a lot to improve health at workplace by reducing occupational health hazards with a participatory team approach. Medical surveillance program helps to detect any deviation in health of employee from baseline. Life style & Stress Management initiatives mixed with Spiritualism help to reduce Obesity & non communicable diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes & Stress among employees. Industrial Hygiene Surveys, Occupational Health Sub Committee, Use of Six sigma in the field of Occupational Health, regular internal & external audits, were some of the initiatives undertaken. Some of the innovative events like - Skit on Life style Management awareness, “Vitality Fair” – a health fair having different zones on Life style Management, ‘Health Diet’ in canteens, Family Counseling, have helped a lot in achieving our targets. Thus all the three aspects of Occupational Health advocated by WHO i.e. Preventive, Promotive & Curative are taken care of in integration.
Results: It has been found that Integration of Occupational Health with Wellness at Workplace has helped our organization to reduce Work place illnesses, injuries, absenteeism. It has motivated employees and ultimately improved production owing to increased efficiency of employees resulting from better health.
Discussion: We can achieve higher productivity and better health at Workplace by adopting different innovative methods to integrate Occupational Health with Wellness.
