Introduction
In Brazil, 777/GM Ordinance was created to regulate the compulsory notification of occupational accidents and diseases related to work and orient the actions of health. The compulsory notification requires the registration of notifications aiming to control events that require immediate intervention. The nursing is the professional team that most crashes in the hospital. This study aimed to identify the prevalence of diseases of compulsory notification of these professionals.

Methods
Research descriptive, retrospective, quantitative in Ribeirão Preto, Brazil, approved by the Ethics Committee of the EERP-USP No. 1245/2010. Data were collected from the electronic base SINAN-NET, concerning nursing professionals: nurses, technicians and nursing assistants who have suffered accidents at work compulsory notification (fatal accident, mutilation, exposure to biological material, dermatosis, exogenous poisoning, musculoskeletal disorders, pneumoconiosis, noise-induced hearing loss, cancer and mental disorders) between 2007 to 2010.

Results
In this study found 1587 accidents at work being 58.6% for assistants, 25.2% for technicians and 16.2% for nurses. Among the types of accidents reported, 92.7% were due to exposure to biological material, 4.4% dermatosis , 2.8% serious accident and 0.1% mental disorders. For the period of the accidents, 8.8% occur in 2007, 17.4% in 2008, 37.1% in 2009, 36.7% in 2010.

Discussion
Accidents with biological material are common among nursing professionals in Brazil. Nursing assistants were those who had more notice, probably because they are the majority of the nursing team in Brazil. The amount and type of injuries found are underreported due to ignorance of the law, corporate resistance and fear of job loss. Accidents cause damage to workers, institutions and public coffers. So your knowledge is important for improvement of working conditions and reduction of accident rates.
