Introduction
The aim of the study is the diagnostic evaluation on basic aspects of safety and health within the laboral field of plastic artist (such activities include painting/drawing, sculpting and pottery) at three art institutes in the city of Valencia, Venezuela. Based on this diagnosis, a recommendation guide on safety and health will be displayed.

Methods
Methodology: descriptive, documented after the selection and adaptation of technical information. The collection of data was made through direct observations, surveys and interviews.

Results
Art institutes do not accomplish the ideal conditions of safety and health. Most of the people are not aware of the environment, non safety and non healthy conditions in the activities that they perform and which can affect their health; and they wish to be informed about the risks and be trained in prevention. 

Discussion
Suggestions: to implement prevention and promotion strategies regarding Health and Safety in art institutes.
