Safety Culture is an important concept that has been discussed since incidents like Piper Alpha, Chernobyl and Bophal.  It  includes organizational and  human factors that affect the outcome of health and Safety within an organization.  Also it is considered essential in order to achive results in terms of welfare and development.    There is extensive literature and the concept has been extensively defined.  The  research has been more theoretical then practical, and there is a need to find a way  to implement programs that could fit our own Cultures.  The  aim of this session, is  to present some practical experience, from experts in Latin America, and  to ilustrate strategies in our countries on how to achieve a Health and safety Culture.
